“Capturing Creativity: Thinking Through Making” at PechaKucha Night Sofia #36
Rosina Pencheva was among the nine selected presenters on the theme “Creative Intelligence.”

On 24 October 2025, Rosina Pencheva, founder of the creative collective platform Capturing Creativity, took part in the 36th edition of PechaKucha Night Sofia—an evening dedicated to ideas that inspire and drive Bulgaria’s creative community.
The event was held at Resonator, a creative technology hub in central Sofia, and was organized by Levent Korkmaz—a designer, lecturer, and curator behind a range of initiatives focused on visual culture and design education in Bulgaria.
Nevena Ekimova with a new solo exhibition: FANGIRL

FANGIRL is a personal and self-ironic exhibition by Nevena Ekimova, presented at Vaska Emanuilova Gallery from 29 October to 7 December, curated by Reneta Georgieva. In the exhibition, the artist revisits the male figures from her past—real and imagined—and, through drawing, objects, textile, and text, transforms lived experience into an intimate visual archive of attractions, disappointments, and fantasies.
The exhibition is part of the gallery’s “Contemporary Art” programme.​​​​​​​
Rosina Pencheva to take part in PechaKucha Night Sofia Vol. 36 – Creative Intelligence

On 24 October, Rosina Pencheva will take part in PechaKucha Night Sofia Vol. 36, dedicated to the theme Creative Intelligence. The event will be held at Resonator in Sofia and will bring together creators, designers, researchers, and innovators from different fields to share their ideas about the role of creativity in today’s world.
PechaKucha is an international format for short, dynamic presentations in which each participant presents 20 slides for 20 seconds each—6 minutes and 40 seconds filled with inspiration and content. The event in Sofia is organized by Levent Korkmaz. It will be held in English and entry is free.

The Chushkarevs — hereditary rug weavers and doyens of the exhibition “THE NEW VALUABLE”

“THE NEW VALUABLE is truly an exhibition worth seeing… We’re happy that we, the ‘Chushkarev girls,’ are part of this exhibition as well,” share Yordanka Yosifova and Yoana Chushkareva.
Five generations of the Chushkarev family have continued the tradition of the Chiprovtsi carpet, recognized by UNESCO, and they are featured in the Homo Faber online guide following a recommendation by curator Rosina Pencheva, who is also a Homo Faber ambassador.
The fifth anniversary of the collaboration between Rosina Pencheva and the Michelangelo Foundation turns the exhibition “The New Valuable” into a natural culmination of their shared work

To mark the anniversary, Rosina recently received a special letter and gift from Alberto Cavalli, Executive Director of the Michelangelo Foundation and a Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic—the publication Modern Artisan: A World of Craft Tradition and Innovation (Flammarion, 2024). The book presents craft traditions and innovations from five continents and will become part of the Reading Room of thematic catalogues within the exhibition “The New Valuable” until its closing, and afterwards an essential part of Capturing Creativity’s pop-up Visual Culture Reading Room, which accompanies all events organized by the collective.
Microfest “Three for Happiness” returns to Gabrovo on 27 September

On 27 September, we once again bring together artists and audiences for the third edition of Microfest—a one-day celebration of visual arts, music, and craft culture. The event will take place across several locations in the Shesti Uchastak neighbourhood and will offer a diverse programme of workshops, an exhibition, a new mural, concerts, and DJ sets.
Visitors to the third edition of Microfest will still have the chance to see the culmination of last year’s edition—the three-dimensional sculpture “Infundibulum” by Nevena Ekimova, which has permanently transformed the underpass by the bus station.
That same weekend, the “Etar” Museum will continue hosting the exhibition “The New Valuable: Contemporary Craft Art from Bulgaria,” curated by Rosina Pencheva, featuring over 100 works by 41 Bulgarian artists.

The Minister of Tourism visited the exhibition “THE NEW VALUABLE” at the “Etar” Museum

Miroslav Borshosh expressed the Ministry of Tourism’s support for the initiative for Gabrovo to host the Annual Meeting of UNESCO Creative Cities in the “Crafts” cluster.
The exhibition’s curator, Rosina Pencheva, presented her selection criteria for the participating artists and works, and emphasized the importance of contemporary craftsmanship as a foundation for a sustainable future.
